Want to get started in the art of embroidery...
but don't know where to begin?
With plenty of inspiration and even a guided meditation, Stitched Visions provides a container within which to learn the art of embroidery, while also providing a bunch of examples from my own collection of books and embroideries of HOW to use these stitches.
It's basically a mini-version of my Magic Threads course!
(and it includes my Embroidery Basics course)
Capture your Visions in Thread
I've been teaching embroidery for nearly a decade, and have made it my goal to present this skill in a way that is accessible and will set you up for creating your own exciting artwork.
Without getting all caught up in perfection, I approach this ancient artform in a way that is accessible and truly magical.
My intention is that this 2 hour workshop will allow you to connect deeply with the work you make, exploring the art of embroidery as a magical practice.

- FAQ's -
Embroidery looks really intense and complex! Won't I need to know a whole bunch? I have taught so many people who have never even picked up a needle before, and the results are nearly always a work of art. Through learning the basic setup and all the ways to use these three beginner stitches, you can translate virtually any visions you'd like into threads.
How long do I have access to this workshop? How does forever sound?
What if I want to go back to a specific part of the video? I've posted the workshop as a series of seperate videos, so you can easily reference the materials you need!
Can't I learn embroidery from YouTube? Sure! Watching free videos is definitely a way to learn things. (I even offer free short videos of ALL these stitches when you sign up for the email newsletter). When you find the youtube channel that also explores the history of embroidery in a style that you can easily work along with, infuses magic and intention into each and every step, and that helps you explore color and composition in a way that is vibrantly alive - please let me know!
Do you offer refunds? No - due to the nature of digital products, and because I know these teachings are highly effective, I do not offer refunds on my courses.
What is Magic Threads? It's an online course that will help you bring your ideas into the physical realm through the art of embroidery. Video lessons and stitch assignment topics include: discovering inspiration, refining ideas, choosing colors, all the while learning new ways to use the classic stitches. There's also a Might Networks community where you can reach out, share images, and ask questions. It opens up 3-4 times a year.
- WHAT YOU'LL NEED -
We will cover materials in the workshop, and I’m a big fan of working with what you got during the learning process, so don’t worry if you’re confused on this part!! You can still learn the stitches with just about any needle, thread, and fabric… That said - you’ll need:
fabric (probably best if its scraps so you can play around without being too precious) that is mediumweight, similar to a collared shirt, and woven (non-stretchy). Fabrics like muslin, linen wovens, lightweight denim, and broadcloth are good.
A wooden embroidery hoop is super helpful but not 100% necessary.
Embroidery floss, sashiko floss, or perle embroidery thread - sewing thread is too thin.
A needle (or two) with an eye opening that looks big enough to fit your thread in (not regular tiny sewing needles unless you want to drive yourself mad :). I usually use "chenille", "crewel", or "tapestry" needles.
We will be doing a brief visualization meditation, so headphones are great to have to really step into the zone for this part of the experience.
